Assessment Rationale And Relationship

Students will select modules (in consultation with Exchange Coordinator or K421 and K400 DPD) at host institution to the value of 40 Newcastle credits (20 ECTS).

The assessment of learning is done via the foreign institution.

Marks are translated to Newcastle marks as follows: Upon receipt of the transcript from the foreign university, a weighted average is taken of the marks obtained abroad. The weighted average is translated into a mark range using a grade key set out in documentation prepared by school.

After completion of the study abroad, students converted percentage mark is confirmed via a brief reflective interview/presentation with the Erasmus Coordinator and the relevant DPD.

Any resit will be set and undertaken at the home institution rather than at host institution. The nature and format of the resit assessment will depend on the credit/ECTS value of modules failed.
