John Pain Scholarship 2024-25

Details
1 scholarship of £3,000 is available to a Year 1 Undergraduate student for one year of study only.
1 scholarship of £2,000 is available to a Year 3 Undergraduate student for one year of study only.
Eligibility
Scholarships are available for a Year 1 and a Year 3 undergraduate student. Applicants must be registered on an Agriculture-related course in our School of Natural and Environmental Sciences.
To be eligible for this award, you must be:
- a UK based undergraduate student, entering stage 1 or stage 3 of study
- registered on one of the following courses:
- Agriculture (including Agronomy, Animal Production Science, Farm Business Management)
- Applied Plant Science
- Agri-Business Management
- Food Business Marketing and Management
- Countryside Management
- Rural Studies or Sustainable Land and Business Management
Applications from students from a widening participation background are encouraged.

Applications must be received no later than 31 October 2024.
Notice of Award: You will be informed by the Student Financial Support Team by the end of the Autumn term of the outcome of your application.
Conditions of scholarship
All scholarship recipients are asked to provide an introductory profile when they first receive the award, and an annual update report to inform their donor of their progress. You will be contacted to provide these reports with plenty of notice. Recipients are encouraged to be available to meet the donors and participate in the promotion of student support activity at Newcastle University if requested.

Clyde Higgs Undergraduate Scholarship 2024-25

The Clyde Higgs Scholarships are generously funded by the Elizabeth Creak Charitable Trust which aims to help the advancement of Agriculture.

Scholarship Amount
£6,000
Elegibility Criteria
Up to 5 awards of £5,500 each are available for incoming Stage 1 undergraduate home students, ordinarily resident in the UK, in the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences enrolled on one of the following courses:
- Agri-business Management
- Agriculture
- Agriculture with Farm Business Management
- Animal Science
- Environmental Science
- Sustainable Land and Business Management
The award will be spread equally over the duration of the course of study.
