Charlotte Bowes
Academic Clinical Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry
As a graduate of Newcastle University I was aware of its reputation in research. Therefore I was delighted to have the opportunity to work here and contribute to the University.
I wanted to become a clinical academic so that I could marry my research interests in special care dentistry with delivering dental care for patients with special needs.
In order to progress academically, I was successful in my application for a NIHR In-Practice Fellowship. This allows me to develop my research training needs. Including studying for a Masters in Public Health at Newcastle, alongside my continued commitment to delivery of primary care dentistry.
The Head of the School of Dental Sciences and other senior colleagues have been extremely supportive of my application and I am so grateful to work within such a supportive and cohesive team.
