Training and support
The Faculty has a training and support programme for involvement and engagement to support our researchers to do good quality, meaningful work with the public.
We offer a range of resources and events to support your training in different types of engagement activities.
Internal members of staff can view our training programme and resources on our Engage FMS NUConnect SharePoint site and our NUConnect Training SharePoint site.
Newcastle Health Innovation Partners and FMS training
Newcastle Health Innovation Partners (NIHP) and FMS have come together with Creating Connections to develop a comprehensive programme of training in PPIE.
For all university colleagues, partners of NHIP and patients/public, we offer a bespoke training package. This is delivered by researchers, public involvement professionals and the public.

Drop in sessions
FMS Engagement team provide a support drop in for PPIE. The engagement team provide advice, resources, and guidance to support your work.

University-wide training programme
The University Engagement and Place team provide an annual training programme of events.
Internal colleagues can also join our University-wide Engage and Learn Teams site. This is where we post the latest updates on events and training across the University.

Support for conducting an engagement activity
We have Engage FMS branded materials such as t-shirts and tablecloths you can use. We also have a Feedback Kit that includes iPads, template surveys, clipboards, pens, and voice recorders. We are also happy to discuss how you may collect feedback on your activity. Please contact the FMS Engagement Team for more information.
