Staff Profile

Amy is the Communications Manager for the NIHR School for Public Health Research (SPHR) working as part of the School’s core operations team. Amy is responsible for developing and delivering the NIHR SPHR Communications Strategy to raise the profile of the school and its research to a range of stakeholders. Prior to joining Newcastle University, Amy worked in various communications roles including at Northumbria University, the Infectious Diseases Data Observatory and the Medical Research Council.

Established in April 2012, the NIHR SPHR is a partnership between nine leading centres of academic public health research excellence. With a total budget of >£25 million over 5 years, the School aims to build the evidence base for effective, inclusive and equitable public health practice by bringing together England’s leading public health research expertise in one virtual organisation and building capacity in public health research.
