I am a Senior Research Fellow located within the NIHR North East and North Cumbria Applied Research Collaboration (NENC ARC). The strategic remit of my post is to support the development of Social Care Research across the NENC ARC, the Local Clinical Research Network (LCRN) and a local authority. This includes being embedded in Adult Social Care settings at the local level, providing relevant research-skills training and supporting all aspects of research development.
My background is in Sociology, Society and Community with a focus on vulnerable populations. Applied research methodologies employed in previous studies include a variety of qualitative and mixed-methods. I have worked cross-culturally and internationally. Recent work has focused on dementia friendly communities, dementia care and post-diagnostic social care support for individuals and families affected by young onset dementia. Current work focuses on Adult Social Care.
