Staff Profile
I am a Research Project Manager in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, supporting research delivery. As part of this role, I am Project Manager for the NIHR Newcastle In-Vitro Diagnostics Cooperative (MIC) and for HARMONY (Healthcare Alliance for Resourceful Medicine Offensive against Neoplasms in hematologY)
The Newcastle MIC is funded by the NIHR and is delivered as a partnership between Newcastle University and Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Its aim is to accelerate and support the adoption of new diagnostic tests, offering expertise in generating the high-quality evidence and evaluations that demonstrate the value of a new test.
I support the MIC’s operations through team and resource planning, financial and budget management, managing enquiries, liaising with test developers, reporting and overseeing milestones and deliverables.
HARMONY is a European Public-Private Partnership, funded by the European Innovative Medicines Initiative, which has established a big data platform collecting data from clinical trials and studies on Haematological Malignancies, with the aim of enabling further research to accelerate the development of more effective treatment for blood cancer.
Newcastle University is a partner in the HARMONY consortium, and my main role in this project is to liaise with European study groups to gather data for the HARMONY Platform, co-ordinating data sharing agreements and supporting with the data transfer.
I have a background in commercial project management, am a PRINCE2 Practitioner and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
