I currently work as the research assistant for a qualitative sub-study within the Extracorporeal Photopheresis in Chronic Lung Allograft Dysfunction UK project (E-CLAD UK project) and also work with the NIHR Innovation Observatory. I completed my first degree in Physician Assistant in India in 2014, following which I worked as a physician assistant and research officer for a liver transplant team for two years. I later obtained master's in public health from JIPMER, India, with my thesis on organ donation. Soon after my master's, I received funding from the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) to undertake my PhD in Organ Donation at the University of Bedfordshire. My thesis explored the barriers and facilitators toward deceased organ donation in India using the philosophical lens of social constructivism and the socio-ecological model's theoretical lens. I used evidence synthesis and qualitative research methods for my thesis. During this journey, I developed skills in evidence synthesis, qualitative research, and teaching in higher education.
Within the Population Health Sciences Institute (PHSI), I am a qualitative researcher working for a qualitative sub-study with the E-CLAD UK project, aiming to critically examine the perceptions and experiences of patients living with CLAD, and their experiences and understandings of ECP (Extracorporeal Photopheresis) therapy. I also work with the NIHR Innovation Observatory within the Insights program, which includes Public and Patient Engagement (PPE), qualitative research, and evidence synthesis methods.
I have experience in teaching public health concepts across various branches of the higher education system for master-level students and successfully supervised several public health master students' dissertations, majorly using a systematic review method approach for their thesis.
