Staff Profile
I have a major interest in COPD and Cystic Fibrosis.
My recent research has focussed on the prediction of important clinical outcome in patients hospitalised with exacerbation of COPD.
I am a member of DECODE-NET, an international group who aim to better understand COPD exacerbation.
My main research work is in the area of COPD exacerbation, and include the validation and implementation of the DECAF score (Published on Thorax in 2016 and 2018 respectively), and the development and validation of the PEARL score (Thorax 2017). I have also published in the areas of the harms of excess oxygen (Emergency Medicine Journal, 2020) and the use of the NEWS2 score in COPD exacerbation (Thorax 2019).
