My previous academic experience on the LGBTQ+ Older Adult Social Care Assessment (LOASCA) study at the University of Birmingham, and my PhD in sociology from the University of Edinburgh have shaped my career and dedication to teaching, researching, and advocating for the older LGBTQ+ population. I have also had the privilege of tutoring undergraduate students in Sociology, fostering critical thinking and research skills.
My research is focused on societal issues such as gender, sexuality, inequality, and social justice. In particular, I have explored the experiences of the older LGBTQ+ community, highlighting their unique challenges and advocating for their well-being. By promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange, I have bridged the gap between research and practice, working with service users and people with lived experiences. Overall, my journey has been dedicated to understanding, supporting, and empowering marginalized populations, particularly older LGBTQ+ individuals.
