Dr Ella Dyer is a Research Associate working on a mixed-methods NIHR SPHR-funded project exploring Food Insecurity in Pregnancy: https://sphr.nihr.ac.uk/food-pregnancy-and-me/
In her current role, Dr Dyer leads public involvement and engagement activities, ensuring that the research outcomes are directly informed by and relevant to the communities they serve. Her expertise in qualitative research methods allows her to capture nuanced patient experiences and translate them into actionable insights for healthcare providers and policymakers.
Ella's ESRC-funded PhD at Newcastle University explored the support needs of women with pre-existing type 1 and type 2 diabetes when becoming pregnant again after a baby loss. This work reflects her commitment to addressing critical gaps in maternal healthcare and support, with a focus on preconception.
More recently, Ella's research has focussed on improving healthcare outcomes for women who experience food insecurity during pregnancy.
