I joined Newcastle University in March 2022 as Research Associate within the Population Health Sciences Institute. I am currently involved in a project evaluating the role of Recovery Navigators for those with experience of heavy alcohol use across the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System (NENC ICS).
Prior to joining Newcastle University, I was based within the Stroke Research Team at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). I completed my PhD at UCLan exploring how Motivational Interviewing, a talk-based therapy, could be adapted for individuals with aphasia (communication difficulties) after stroke. I was later involved in various projects focusing on psychological adjustment post-stroke, and capacity building for stroke-pathway staff. My role involved organising and facilitating Patient and Public Involvement groups relating to this research.
