Staff Profile
I am a registrar in geriatric medicine, training within the North East, currently undertaking PhD study as a clinical research associate within the AGE research group (AGE Research Group | AGE Research Group | Newcastle University (ncl.ac.uk)).
My primary role is within the ADMISSION collaborative (About Our Research | ADMISSION | Newcastle University (ncl.ac.uk)), focussing upon characterising multiple long-term conditions (MLTC) in hospitalised patients. The aims of this work is to examine the burden and patterns of MLTC in patients admitted to hospital through a series of statistical methods, which forms the focus of my PhD. Further research interests include the role of the gut microbiome within older people's health.
Outside of the university I have involvement with the Association of Elderly Medical Education (AEME – Association for Elderly Medicine Education), helping to organise the annual Geriatrics for Juniors conference. Through my research interests I have become involved with the GeriData network (Home - GeriData).
