Background
I work in the Transplant and Regenerative Medicine laboratory on the Quality in Organ Donation (QUOD) biobank project, collecting and processing tissue from donor pancreas, lung, and heart for multimodal research analyses. In our lab we also isolate islets from donor pancreata for research into islet transplantation and diabetes.
My research is primarily focused on light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy analysis of donor pancreas tissue, investigating the exocrine and endocrine pathology of organs in the QUOD tissue bank with a particular interest in type 2 diabetes.
