Staff Profile
Dr Ruth Wilson
Programme/Consortia Manager
I am a Stakeholder Relationship Manager for the NIHR Innovation Observatory (NIHR - Innovation Observatory) where I support colleagues with their work with our Stakeholders.
I started working at Newcastle University as part of the Postgraduate Student Support Team in the Business School. My role was to manage the administrative duties for programmes, working with the Director of Pre-Experience Postgraduate Programmes and Undergraduate Programmes, Degree Programme Directors and academic staff to support the School’s teaching and learning activities. I supervised the team of programme secretaries who support the programmes. I also managed induction plus the school appeals and complaints.
After working in the Business School, I worked with the HaSS Faculty Team. My main role was to support the development of a new cross-faculty programme this included activities such as organising cross-faculty meetings and preparing programme approval documentation. In addition, I worked with the Learning and Teaching Team on the quality control of programme documentation.
Following this, I worked as the Senior Administrator for Fuse, the Centre for Translational Research in Public Health. This is a collaboration of the five North East Universities and with a mission to improve health and wellbeing, and health inequalities through research, policy and practice.
My next role was the Programme/Consortia Manager for the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Prevention including Behavioural Risk Factors and the Health and Care Inequalities National Priority Consortia. These consortia are collaborative projects to improve the health outcomes of people. (http://arc-nenc.nihr.ac.uk)
