Background

I am based at the Population Health Sciences Institute and currently hold the Faculty Fellowship. I joined Newcastle University in November 2023 to work on diet and lifestyle factors in relation to colorectal cancer outcomes. The findings generated will support the development of evidence-based guidance for cancer survivors.

Before this fellowship, I was a postdoctoral epidemiologist at the Nuffield Department of Population Health at the University of Oxford where I worked on the Cancer Risk in Vegetarians Consortium, looking at the associations between vegetarian diets and the risk of site-specific cancers. I hold a PhD in Nutritional Epidemiology from the University of Leeds and my doctoral work explored the relationship between diet and reproductive health of women using data from the UK Women's Cohort Study and the InterLACE Study.
