The Brilliant Club
The Brilliant Club has been training our PhD tutors to deliver The Scholars Programme in our partner schools and colleges across the UK since 2011. They share their subject knowledge and passion for learning with small groups of pupils aged 8-18. The club helps pupils to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence. This helps them to secure a place at a competitive university. Research using data from the Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) has shown that The Scholars Programme also has a positive impact on GCSE attainment. Scholars Programme students have higher GCSE scores than other students from their Local Authority with similar key stage two prior attainment. Students with average prior attainment were twice as likely to achieve a 9-5 in maths and English at GCSE after taking part in The Scholars Programme in Year 10.
There will be an online briefing session on 9 July with more information.
