Project description
I am focusing on identification of various risks during decommissioning. I am then estimating the impacts of the risk. I will develop a cost model for decommissioning.
Methodology and objectives
I chose the HAZID technique for identifying risk. I am using industrial data as well as journal papers for the frequency assessment. The consequence assessment uses a simplified analytical technique. In this, I will assess the effect of the impacts on the installation during the removal.
The cost estimation methodology uses data from various literature reviews and industrial data. I am using the bottom-up technique to get the total cost of decommissioning.
Results
My research will help in carrying out a successful decommissioning exercise with the occurrence of risk being ALARP (as low as reasonably practicable). I am aiming the cost estimation at providing a more accurate decommissioning cost estimate. I am also reducing the timing of decommissioning.
