Aims
This module is designed to provide an overview as to the fundamental concepts and techniques for the engineering management programme. This will include an introduction to: supply chains; finance; sustainability; global engineering; leadership; and business skills
Outline Of Syllabus
The module will cover the following topics:
• Engineering in a global context: covering the introduction to UNSDGs; sustainable
engineering, alongside global ethical, legal (including intellectual property) and
financial considerations; introduction to ESG
• Digital engineering; introduction AI and impact on future practice
• Provision of supply chains through project life cycle (including initial resourcing,
monitoring and management), systems thinking and circular economy
• Introduction to the principles of leadership and how to build and maintain an inclusive
environment
