Teaching Rationale And Relationship

Lectures are used to frame relevant concepts, theories and techniques which relate to the module learning objectives. Lectures include activities which allow students to apply lecture content to real life scenarios and engage in professional discussion with their colleagues. In doing so, their knowledge and understanding of high standards of professional practice within healthcare science is developed.

Lecture materials and reflective learning activities are used to further support and re-enforce understanding of key concepts and help prepare students to fully engage with the module learning objectives.

Students will be given the opportunity to engage with formative practice throughout the module. Activities will relate to the learning objectives.

The learning objectives are formally demonstrated via the students ability to critically evaluate how a specific healthcare issue, of their choice, relates to the role of a clinical scientist, patient- centred care, the practice of healthcare science and the wider healthcare environment. As such, a generous amount of time has been assigned to directed research and reading and assessment preparation and completion.
