Aims
To module aims to synthesise the theoretical and empirical knowledge gained in the first semester of the programme by applying this knowledge to support the development of a growing entrepreneurial small business. This will enable students to develop their practical skills in consulting practice for a real small business client. These skills include team work, diagnostic skills, scenario building, strategic analysis, recommendations development and reporting.

Teaching Rationale And Relationship
This module is about working with entrepreneurial small businesses in a facilitated way to support their development and growth (taking into account how they want to develop and grow their business).Therefore a largely workshop based approach to teaching and learning is most appropriate. Foundational workshops at the beginning of the module will enable students to understand the role that they will be taking as consultants during this module. To facilitate group work students will have timetabled slots each teaching week to progress the outputs they need to deliver (for the client and for the assessment).

Assessment Rationale And Relationship
This is a consultancy based module designed to support a small business client and so the assessment focuses on the deliverables of the report, and the presentation and discussion with the business. Both deliverables will enable students to demonstrate that intended knowledge and skills learning outcomes for the module. Reports will indicate the contributions of individual team members for the assessment of team working, while the presentation will also provide the opportunity for team work to be shown. Peer assessment will be used.
