Aims
This module is designed to help students understand the importance of innovation at the firm and project levels. We examine the shift from a closed to an open model of innovation. A core objective of the module is to develop students’ understanding about how to implement open innovation at different levels and in different contexts. The module then explores the importance of Industry 4.0 and its impact on sustainability, and strategic collaborations as a means for promoting enterprise and factory competitiveness. Through a series of lectures and small group learning activities students will develop an understanding of open innovation, and Industry 4.0

Teaching Rationale And Relationship
The module will be delivered through lectures to introduce the theoretical and empirical underpinnings of open innovation and industry 4.0. There will be class discussion of case studies and academic papers.
