Aims
The aim of this module is to provide students with the opportunity to work as a team on a business analytics projects in which they apply their domain knowledge and analytics skills with regards to data collection, management, analysis, and visualisation. Where possible these projects will involve real organisation (for instance commercial, not-for-profit or public sector etc), giving students the chance to apply their skills in a real business environment. Projects may also have a research focus. Finally students will be also be given the opportunity to propose projects, after consultation with the module leader.
Outline Of Syllabus
Potential business analytics projects will be provided to students, among which they will have the opportunity to select the one they are most interested in. These projects will aim to involve real organizations, offering students the chance to apply their skills in a genuine business environment. Additionally, students will be encouraged to propose their own projects, following consultation with the module leader.

Teaching Rationale And Relationship
The lectures sessions will provide students will cover the fundamental of the role that consultants play when working on business analytics problems. They will act as milestone touch points for key project stages (initiation, mid-point and delivery). The scheduled online activities will be offer regular support to students working on their business analytics projects.

Assessment Rationale And Relationship
Each group is expected to work on project report that covers the business analytics and project management aspect of the project. Depending on the project deliverables will be agreed with the students at the project initiation stage. All project teams will undertake a presentation to the project owners.
