Recent events
This was added on 08/08/2024:
You may have seen media reports of recent events across the UK. The disturbances over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of August are not representative of most people in our community, our region or the UK. This was made very clear when thousands of people in Newcastle and across the UK held peaceful anti-racist demonstrations on the 7th of August to show support and solidarity across communities.
We have around 5,000 international students at Newcastle University, from more than 120 countries, and we are proud that each year, the University welcomes thousands of students from across the world. See our FAQs for more information about student wellbeing and how we keep our student community safe.
