Meet Navonil

Business Administration MBA

Hello, I’m Navonil. I moved from India to study at Newcastle University because of its strong academic reputation, particularly in my field of study at the Business School.

My past international work experience inspired me to want to enhance my personal and professional growth in a globally connected environment. The UK’s shorter but high-quality postgraduate courses stood out by offering an intensive yet efficient pathway to achieve my career goals.

Studying at Newcastle is giving me the opportunity to grow and push myself out of my comfort zone. The University’s global outlook and diverse student community align perfectly with my goal of gaining international exposure.

The application process was seamless and quick, making the entire experience stress-free. I appreciated how straightforward it was to navigate through the steps without encountering any hurdles. I was also able to select my preferred slot for the interview, which added a personal touch to the process.

The perfect setting for success

Newcastles emphasis on research-led teaching and excellent industry connections offers a platform to develop theoretical and practical expertise.

Its the perfect setting to prepare for success in an increasingly globalised world.

What surprised me about Newcastle is how welcoming and vibrant the University and city are. I didn’t expect such a strong sense of community and support from both students and staff.

The University fosters not just academic excellence, but a well-rounded student experience.  At the start of my course, the department organised a yoga session and team-building activities at Tynemouth Beach. It helped us see the importance of maintaining mental and physical health while working in a fast-paced and competitive environment.

Starting my own student society

The social aspect of university has been amazing. The diverse and inclusive environment has made it easy to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds, leading to some great friendships.

For fun, I enjoy exploring the city’s vibrant cultural scene, attending events, and trying out local food spots.

I recently started an Indian performing arts society, which has been an exciting way to combine my interests with building a community. Organising the clubs activities has not only been fun but has also helped me develop leadership and teamwork skills.

A clear career direction

In the future, I see myself in a strategic leadership role within the marketing or business development space. I would like to be in a role where Im leading international teams, making data-driven decisions, and creating value through creativity and collaboration.

Newcastle University has played a pivotal role in helping me realise my future aspirations. The diverse teaching methods and practical case-study-based learning have sharpened my strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

The support from the Careers Service has been invaluable. The team have guided me in understanding the global job market, refining my CV and cover letters, and tailoring my professional approach. The mentors are always approachable and supportive. Their ongoing support has made me feel confident in my professional journey.
