Our Research
Our researchers address fundamental, translational and clinical questions in neuroscience.
We aim to:
- understand how the nervous system works
- discover the mechanisms underpinning nervous system disorders
- find better ways to treat and manage these disorders
- address clinical, and societal issues related to neuroscience
These research projects utilise diverse methods including:
- biological methods ranging from recording single nerve cells to brain imaging
- computer simulations
- behavioural approaches in humans and animals
We capture the range of our research under four broad headings. Additional themes will emerge as the centre develops.
Cognitive systems
Our aim is to understand the basis of sensation and cognition and related clinical conditions
AI for the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders
Neuro- and computer scientists applying the power of computation and artificial intelligence (AI) for faster diagnosis and treatment.
