This workstream combines our expertise in bioengineering and neuroscience to develop radical new ways to treat and manage neurological disorders. For example, using implants and external devices to:

  • monitor and control epileptic seizures
  • improve motor function following stroke
  • overcome spinal cord damage
  • improve brain function using feedback

We employ cutting-edge methods in neuroscience, such as optogenetics, to manipulate neuronal function. We combine this with custom hardware and software to record brain activity or to deliver signals to the brain.
