AI for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Neurological Disorders

Our neuroscientists and computer scientists combine their expertise in this workstream. They apply computational methods and artificial intelligence (AI) to solve problems in neuroscience. This includes improving the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of neurological disease.

We use AI to analyse retinal scans more efficiently to diagnose conditions such as:

  • multiple sclerosis
  • neuromyelitis optica
  • macular degeneration

We apply computational methods and machine learning to analyse brain images and electrical activity from patients with epilepsy. Through this approach, we can more accurately localise the source of epileptic seizures. Thus, we can improve the surgical outcome for patients.
