Support Us
We need support to be able to continue our research into improving brain disorder treatments and outcomes for patients.
Disorders of the nervous system are some of the most devastating conditions, both for sufferers and those who care for them. For many of these disorders, clinicians have little to offer to patients in the form of effective management and curative treatments. Some of these conditions include:
- dementias and other degenerative brain diseases
- disorders of the senses for example hearing and vision
- epilepsy
- psychiatric illnesses
- restoring movement following stroke and injury
Further research is vital to discover the underlying causes of such conditions. It helps us identify new and better treatments. Through this, we aim to improve prospects and quality of life for patients.
By donating today, you could make a difference in empowering our researchers. The donations we receive could allow them to make their next breakthrough.
In 2020 we received a £3.1 million anonymous donation from a member of the public. We used this to fund:
- a PhD Student Scheme to train 15 young scientists
- a new Clinical Chair in Neuromuscular disease
- an Accelerator Award Scheme in pump priming funds for new research
- a high-level technical post to support our facilities for human neuroscience research
We were also able to leverage other research funding and much more.
