1. Student finance

If you haven’t applied for your student loans, do this now. If you have, log in to your account and make sure your details – including the university and course name – are correct. You will also need to confirm the correct tuition fee for your course.

2. Register with us

We will send you details of how to register online as a student with Newcastle University. You will be asked to check your student data and confirm your course details. You will also need to upload a photograph of yourself for your student smartcard.

You may need to pay, or arrange to pay, your tuition fees to complete your registration.

3. Pack for university

Check our list of the items to pack for university – and the things you don’t need to bring with you.

We also asked our students for their top 10 suggestions, read what they had to say.

4. Make travel arrangements

Thanks to direct road and rail links with the rest of the UK, it’s easy and affordable to get to Newcastle, whether you’re travelling by public transport or car.

If you’re travelling by air, flight times to Newcastle from most UK airports are around an hour.

Find out more and start planning your journey, we're closer than you think.

Moving in day

Arrangements for moving in to your accommodation will depend on whether you’re in University-owned accommodation or a managed partnership residence.
