Teaching and Student Experience
At Newcastle, we provide quality teaching and a great student experience. Our awards, accreditations and student satisfaction survey results demonstrate our commitment.
Teaching quality
Newcastle University was founded in 1834 to educate the pioneers of the industrial revolution. Teaching was then, and is still, at the heart of our University: at Newcastle we educate for life, to develop and nurture successive generations of creative practitioners, clinicians, scientists, engineering and educationalists, and set them on the path to make their own mark on society.
We hold the QAA Quality Mark for our high quality of academic standards and learning. The QAA commended the wide range of ways we develop the employability of our students. You can read the full QAA review report online.
We are proud of our academic staff for the quality of teaching they give to our students. In recognition of individual excellence, nine of our academics have received a National Teaching Fellowship.
Our University library is the only one in the UK to have received the Charter Mark five times. We now hold the Customer Services Excellence award, which replaced the old award.
Newcastle University Business School is in the 1% of business schools worldwide to hold the triple accreditation:
- European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) under its EQUIS scheme
- Association of MBAs (AMBA)
- Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)
