Creative Collaborations
We develop mutually beneficial and sustainable partnerships with cultural organisations.
Sustainable partnerships
We contribute to the vibrancy and cultural richness of our region. We do this by applying our expertise in creative arts practice, culture and heritage.
Our Institute for Creative Arts Practice leads our collaborations, supported by our Humanities Research Institute.
Together they foster interdisciplinary initiatives. These collaborations develop mutually beneficial and sustainable partnerships with cultural organisations.
Exemplar collaborations
Our global research and education strength in culture and creative arts has local support. This is through exemplar collaborations with partners from:
- our University museum
- the Great North Museum (in partnership with Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums)
- the Hatton Art Gallery (in partnership with Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums)
- the campus-based theatre Northern Stage
- our graduate programme ‘Collective Studio’ with The NewBridge Project
'Wor Culture' network
'Wor Culture' is a forum facilitated by Newcastle University for discussing issues relating to the culture and creative sectors. With topics proposed by the sector, the aim is to contribute to shaping the future of these sectors in the North East.
Delivering real benefits
Our strategic and collaborative relationships deliver real benefits to cultural and creative industries.
Together we can develop:
- knowledge exchange activities
- research and teaching collaborations
- collaborative PhD studentships
- co-curation of new exhibitions
- student placements and experiential learning opportunities
We create economic and cultural value when organisations, artists, students and academics collaborate.
