Hosted by Dr Gareth Longstaff

This event has been rescheduled and will now take place on Thursday 30 March.

In this talk, Juliet Jacques discusses her life and career as a trans writer, and the three books she has published on trans issues: Trans: A Memoir (2015), the short story collection Variations (2021) and the anthology Front Lines: Trans Journalism 2007-2021 (2021). She talks about the political and aesthetic aims behind her writing, and how different contexts have required different types of work. In this, she looks at the changing situation for trans and non-binary people in British media and politics, and offers some suggestions as to what we might do next.
