Geoengineering climate change: do two wrongs make a right?
Professor Nicholas J P Owens, Director, The Scottish Association for Marine Science
Date/Time: 6th December 2016
Human-induced climate change is happening, and attempts to reduce the pace of change through energy policy are proving difficult. One suggested response is to use engineering solutions on a planetary scale to reduce the impact and effects of the changes – so called geoengineering. In this lecture Professor Owens explained some geoengineering solutions that have been being proposed, their potential effectiveness and the ethics of the approach.
